Park & Ride FREE of charge
Peterborough City Council's park and ride
scheme for Christmas shoppers will begin on Saturday 14
November 2009 and operate for six weekends until Sunday
20 December 2009.
The scheme is designed to ease traffic
congestion at what is the busiest time of the year on the citys
roads.
The council has been working with Stagecoach
bus company and Veolia Transport to enable the scheme to run
from two sites in the city. Buses will run every 12 minutes from
either the Diligenta building car park at Lynch Wood, Orton,
Peterborough or the Perkins car park at Eastern Industry,
Peterborough.
Shoppers using the service will not have to
pay to park, nor for their bus journey into the city centre.
The Saturday service will operate from 9am to
5pm by Stagecoach bus company and the Sunday service will
operate from 10am to 5pm by Veolia Transport.
Buses will run every 12 minutes and from the
same sites as the Saturday service. This service will be
operated by Veolia Transport. At Lynchwood, the first bus will
leave at 10.05 am and the last bus from Queensgate will be 5 pm.
The first bus at Oxney Road will set off at 10 am and the last
bus will return at 5.01 pm.
All the services will feature low-floor
vehicles allowing easy access for wheelchairs and buggies.
Security will also be provided at both car parks.

year's park and ride, please telephone see
