Awards for All has awarded this grant to enable support workers to
be trained to support people with a Learning Disability to assess
their skills and match them to vacancies in their area.
Specifically the donation will pay for training for support workers
to help people with a Learning Disability to identify skills and
experience, both existing and required, to prepare themselves for
work. The computers will be used to access learning resources and to
register with appropriate agencies.
Eddie
Morgan, MD of Thera East Anglia, said, “We are delighted to receive
this news – we are very proud of the support we offer people with a
learning disability and we believe passionately in the work that we
do. We have a vision of people with learning disabilities taking an
active role in their communities.”
Awards for
All is distributed by The Big Lottery Fund which distributes half of
the National Lottery good cause funding across the UK. The Fund aims
to enable others to make real improvements to communities and the
lives of people most in need.
