Mark your mobile.

That's the message from police in Peterborough, in a drive to get more mobile users to property mark their phones.

Community Safety Officer Joe Dawkins, said: "Marking mobile phones is important as it allows the handset to be identified if stolen.

"Noting down the IMEI number of your phone is also a good idea as it enables the mobile provider to render it inoperable should it be stolen.

"Property marking deters thieves and helps police trace stolen items."

Free mobile phone safety kits, which includes pens and stickers to mark your phone as well as information detailing IMEI numbers and 'immobilise' website, are available from the community safety department on 01733 424434.
