Indesit staff raise lots of Children in Need

More than 100 members of staff at Indesit Company UK pledged their support for this year’s BBC Children in Need campaign on Friday 19 November.

Manning the phones at the company’s Peterborough-based call centre, the team took thousands of donations totalling nearly £70,000 from across the UK during the live telethon.

Keeping to this year’s theme of ‘Show off your Spots, Let’s Raise Lots’, the Indesit Company team donned fancy dress to take the pledges. The money will help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The team’s largest donation of the evening was a whopping £1,000!

Once again, the call centre was chosen as the lead centre in Cambridgeshire, and the only one in Peterborough, to take donations.

John Morrissey, Managing Director at Indesit Company said: “We were delighted to support BBC Children in Need again this year. It’s the 5th consecutive year that we have been involved and it’s great to see how many of our staff are willing to offer their support; not only by taking donations over the phones throughout the evening, but also by giving their time and money, coming up with weird and wonderful fundraising ideas!”

On the night, BBC Children In Need raised a grand total of £18,098,199.
