The sessions will be held at the Neighbourhood Management Centre at
76 Central Avenue, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, each Friday from 26
January between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Acting neighbourhood director Graeme
Clark said: “I am thrilled that professional debt advice will now be
available locally and I hope that residents will take the
opportunity to gain valuable advice about their financial situation.
CAB manager Keith Jones explained:
“The Department of Trade and Industry’s Financial Inclusion
Taskforce provided £45 million of funding across the UK to enable a
step-change in the availability of face-to-face debt advice to
financially excluded clients.
“Peterborough CAB now has the
services of two full-time and one part-time equivalent debt workers
who can deliver face-to-face debt advice under the Financial
Inclusion Fund to residents of Greater Peterborough until the
funding runs out on 31 March 2008.
“This significant increase in the
availability of free face-to-face debt advice is being targeted at
areas of high financial exclusion and the most disadvantaged social
groups in England and Wales.”
