A summer of fun lies ahead for youngsters who attend the holiday
schemes at Bushfield Sports Centre and Werrington Sports Centre
from Monday 27 July 2009 to Friday 28 August 2009.
The schemes are run by Peterborough
City Council’s sports development team and will offer a packed
schedule of arts and crafts, sports, games and other fun activities
for boys and girls aged between eight and 14-years-old. It will run
from Mondays to Fridays from 8.30am to 5pm.
Sporty youngsters will be able to
enjoy activities including dodge ball, ultimate Frisbee, football,
netball and basketball. Those who prefer arts and crafts have the
choice of painting, model-making, mosaic and collage-making or
taking part in a talent show.
Sessions are £20 a day or £75 per

The city council's sports
development team are also running Sports X-travaganza sessions
throughout the school summer holidays. The sessions are a mixture of
sports and games for youngsters aged between eight and 14-years-old
and will run on Mondays through to Thursdays from Monday 20 July
2009 to Thursday 3 September 2009.
The same programme will run each
week as follows:

bowling at AMF in Bretton;

Monday 1.30pm to 3pm: Sports X-travaganza
at Bushfield Sports Centre;

Tuesday 11.30am to 12.30pm:
health and fitness session at Bushfield Sports Centre;

Tuesday 1.30pm to 3pm: Sports X-travaganza
at Bushfield Sports Centre;

Wednesday 11.30am to 12.30pm:
street dance at Bushfield Sports Centre;

Wednesday 1.30pm to 3pm: Sports
X-travaganza at Bushfield Sports Centre

Thursday 10am to 12.30pm:
fishing at Decoy Lakes, Whittlesey;

Thursday 1.30pm to 3pm: Sports
X-travaganza at Bushfield Sports Centre.
Activities are designed for all
youngsters regardless of their physical, learning or sensory
ability.
All sessions are £2 per person.
Activities are only available for full weeks and there will be no
sessions on August Bank Holiday Monday (31 August 2009).
Scott Beasley, city council sports
development officer, said: "There are a wide range of sports and
crafts activities available for youngsters this summer, both in the
holiday schemes and through the Sports X-travaganza. This is a great
opportunity for children to come along and get involved, and take
part in activities they might not normally consider."
