As well as enjoying free entry on Saturday 10th February, the
first day of half-term, visitors will be able to see the Shire
Horses working from the newly established Shire Horse Centre at
Sacrewell, supported by the Shire Horse Society. It is planned that
a dray pulled by two of the seven resident Shire Horses will deliver
The Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire to the opening ceremony.
Three Little Ducks - Sacrewell’s
Quality Farm & Gift Shop opens for the first time on this day and
will be offering free tastings of some of the local specialist foods
and drinks that are on sale. The shop will be stocking organic fruit
& vegetables from River Nene Organic Vegetables, a selection of
locally produced meats and dairy produce, specialist British foods &
drinks, exclusive range of gifts and accessories, farm themed toys
and books and Shire Horse Society souvenirs.
As well as the new high quality
function and meeting rooms, the new building has allowed the
expansion of the Miller’s Country Café into the space vacated by the
shop, giving visitors more space to enjoy the great home-cooked
meals and snacks that make the most of our locally produced foods,
enhanced by the wonderful views of the countryside.
With the new building, Sacrewell
Farm can now offer some superb extra facilities that can be enjoyed
by many whether they are just visiting the Miller’s Country Café and
Three Little Ducks shop or using the function rooms, not forgetting
the opportunity to explore our award winning Farm Centre.
