Who is Riverford?
Riverford organic veg is the organic veg box company delivering
delicious, fresh food to customers in and around Peterborough.
Riverford grows much of its produce on 500 acres of fields at
Sacrewell Farm just outside Peterborough.
What’s on the menu?
All the meals served will use fresh produce straight from the fields
and will be prepared by Riverford’s head chef Jane Baxter who
specialises in taking what looks best in the fields and transforming
it into a feast of flavours.
As well as serving lunch and dinner
in the yurt, there will be special events, from cooking
demonstrations to pick-your-own days at the farm. The menu has been
devised to work with the fresh produce that is available during the
summer months as the roving restaurant makes its way round the
country.
The menu served will depend on what
is ready to pick that day, and will include generously portioned
main courses such as: Grilled leg of lamb on a bed of flageolet
beans with salsa rossa, new potatoes baked in parchment, braised
artichokes with broad beans and mint, and salad of grilled
courgettes, tomatoes, basil and sugar snap peas.
A mouth-watering selection of
desserts includes: Rhubarb and strawberry crumble, summer berry
pavlova, and apricot and almond tart.
