Daily festival coverage will also continue until its close on 10th
July. Other well known local voices will be heard in the coming
weeks, including former Lite FM presenters Tom Hooper and Chris
Holland, and ex-Hereward presenters Rob Jones and Dave King. Local
news reader and author Simon Potter will head up the station’s news
output.
Station manager Wayne Fitzgerald
said: “Since we announced our plans just a few weeks ago we have
been inundated with people wanting to help out, run programmes and
work behind the scenes. This is great and means that we will have a
wide variety of specialist programmes as well as the usual
mainstream music, local news and chat.
“I am also delighted to have so many
familiar local voices on air us to celebrate the festival and
connect with local people through the radio. I have high hopes that
we can all work to make Radio Peterborough a more permanent fixture
in the city.”
