“We buy the bulk items that tend to be
sold by TV channels so they can achieve a higher price. We realised
that people do not always want to buy 100 pieces of an item but just
one or two, so we break them down into
their component parts and sell them at low prices,”
explained Jan.
Card making and scrapbooking as a
hobby has increased hugely over the past few years – currently
valued at about £2 billion a year in the UK with many people making
professional looking cards for a fraction of the price you pay in a
high street card shop.
“We often find our customers donate
their cards to charities to sell or sell them on and donate the
profits to charity. In that way their hobby pays for itself and
charities benefit for the sale. This is where Pondskipper’s pricing
really helps” said Jan.
"The
lower the cost of the card making elements the more profit the
charity can make, it a win win situation”.
Pondskipper’s first opened their at
Alfric Square in May 2006 and have had crafting events with Crafting

www.pondskippercrafts.co.uk.
Pondskipper Crafts has a 1450
square foot warehouse in Alfric Square,
