It will be the sixth consecutive year the Peterborough Mask
Theatre has presented an open air production, their fourth to be
performed in the city's Central Park. It is the perfect setting for
a summer evening of Shakespeare and people are urged to bring their
own seating, or even a picnic and a blanket to enjoy the
entertainment. Performances start at 7.30 pm from Tuesday 3 July to
Saturday 7 July.
Councillor Matthew Lee, Cabinet
member for Community Services, said: "Outdoor theatre is becoming
increasingly popular with people of all ages and a regular favourite
in the festival line-up. Central Park provides the perfect setting
and Mask Theatre always give an excellent performance. Much Ado
About Nothing should not to be missed."
Tickets for either Peterborough
Mask Theatre's performance of Much Ado About Nothing cost £5, £3
concessions, and can be bought from Peterborough Tourist Information
Centre or by calling (01733) 452336.
The nine-day Peterborough Festival
runs from Saturday 30 June to Sunday 8 July and is themed ‘Myths and
Legends’. It boasts a packed programme of events and activities, and
a free full colour brochure is available from the Tourist
Information Centre, Central Library, Key Theatre, Town Hall and
other council offices.
