The monthly event is aimed directly at those people who want
to remind themselves of the 'golden era' of soul music in
surroundings that will make them feel immediately at home.
"Pete
Revell came up with the idea of promoting such a night after
appearing at a Capital Gold weekend event in front of some 2000
people a months ago," said City Club
co-owner Steve Jason,
"We
already run a highly successful Northern
Soul night in conjunction with the East
Anglian Soul Club but this night won't compete with that at all -
this night is more for the 'Hit single' end of Tamla Motown music
followers whereas the Northern scene is more aimed at the
underground/more obscure end of the 60's soul scene."
The first night starts on Friday 11
May from 8pm onwards.
Advance
tickets are on sale priced at just £5 from
The City Club. - or you can book over the phone by calling 01733
562101.
There's a
special happy hour in the main bar from 8pm until 9pm with various
special offers on spirits and bottled beers. Age policy is 21+ and
the dress codes is casual but smart with no sportswear or trainers
being allowed into the club.
The next Motown and Classic 60's
