On Sunday 29th November, the children, parents and instructors of
King's School of Martial Arts - KSOMA,
together with visiting instructors and students from the Bedford
Jujutsu Dojo, came together for a competition event to raise money
for the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.
The children, girls and boys aged 5
– 13, both able and less able competed together to an extremely high
standard in individual and team events for Kata and self defence
categories. The judges commented on the high standards exhibited and
particularly on the precision and timing of the Kata performed and
the effectiveness and control displayed in the Self Defence
categories.
The event organised by our senior
children’s instructor Lesley King Sensei 2nd Dan and assisted by the
instructors from KSOMA, the judges and parents ran smoothly with
some amazing performances from the children.
All proceeds from the event, a
massive £377.58, go to the BBC Children In Need appeal; all the
trophies were donated by our students.
We would like to take this
opportunity to offer a huge thank you to all that contributed or
helped with the event.
