Walton Indoor market have announced the countdown to the grand
opening in the New Year, with still a few
opportunities
left for budding entrepreneurs to start there own business with the
support of a well established organization.
The man behind the business
venture, Stef Malajny is best known for running the highly
successful pizza chain Papa Luigi and much of the experience he has
built up generating publicity for that business will be utilized in
the running of this business.
Stef picks up the story, “When we
open the market the first word that customers expect is cheap but I
feel the second word that follows immediately should be quality, we
already have a selection of stall holders who are fitting this bill
and there is still room for a few more, we are also looking for
local people to supply the market with homemade products such as
cakes and sweets and also home grown fruit and vegetables."
The idea of local folk also
supplying the market reverts back to the traditional days, of
Yesteryear, Stef remembers his grandmother telling him stories of
how the family would walk to Peterborough from Wansford to sell
fresh eggs, butter and other home made products to supplement there
income. Stef also thought the abundance of surplus apples in his
mother's orchard should be available as
cheap fresh organic fruit and the revival of this traditional system
would be good for everyone.
The market will also boast a food
hall that will have the areas only combination of Italian, Indian
and Chinese delis that not only will sell wonderful foods and spices
from around the world, they will have cooking packages for you
favourite dish with cooking instructions and assistance with any
questions customers may have and for those who don’t feel quite so
adventurous then all your favourite dishes will be available home
cooked and ready to serve.
There will also be regular food
demonstrations with lessons on how to cook that continental cuisine
and food tasting days, Stef added, “We are aiming at making the
market a fun place with the food demos and when we combine this with
cracking prices the customers should be very happy, we are even
looking to have draft real ales in our off license so that customers
will be able to have the tastiest beers to take home."
All the tasty morsels along with
all the other products also for sale at the market will be available
online as Stef will set up an online market with a local delivery.
