Visitors can feel the breeze in their faces as skaters soar past at an
exhilarating speed to perform dramatic lifts, and will enjoy a truly
interactive performance when the skaters move from the ice to the
floor to dance around the audience, and skaters tumble from the sky
in amazing, airborne gymnastics!
Ice skating is really ‘hotting’ up
over the next few months, with the European Figure Skating
Championships taking place in Estonia from 19 – 24 January. The
Olympic Winter Games are in Vancouver in February where Robin will
celebrate the Anniversary of his Gold medal performance in Lake
Placid, New York and be part of the BBC commentary team. The 5th
series of the smash hit show ‘Dancing On Ice’ has already started on
ITV with Robin as Head Judge and his company, Cousins Entertainment,
provided the ice rink and staff for both the TV show and certain
venues on the Dancing on Ice live tour.
During a highly successful career as
a professional ice skater, Robin appeared as special guest star with
Holiday On Ice, with whom he set new, and currently unbroken, Box
Office records for attendance levels, with 3,500,000 customers over
a six week season at Wembley!
This year Robin returns to the UK
and Exec Peterborough as Artistic Director of Spirit alongside
Choreographer Karen Kresge. Together they have co-produced a
cultural extravaganza of inspirational ice skating, combining the
natural beauty of the four elements with global traditions and
modern rhythms. A voyage from east to west, world-class ice skaters
glide from sunrise to nightfall, recreating the ethnic splendour of
Asian cultures, ancient mysticism of Stonehenge and tribal gathering
of Native American Indians.
Holiday on Ice, Spirit offers a
complete entertainment experience for all ages, with an
international award winning set, dramatic scene changes, creative
lighting and a dazzling collection of over 350 extravagant costumes.
Musical Director, Maurice Luttikhuis
explores the nature of the human spirit with an emotional and
passionate score, where the haunting melody of the Chinese Warrior
ice dance contrasts with the pulsing Hip Hop beat of the urban
street dance number.
