This year, the Show, organised by the East of England
Agricultural Society, will embrace its farming ties with
Farming Friday. Admission to the first day of the show will
be free to all, and the focus of the day will be on all that is best
in agriculture in the East of England.
Friday will be the main livestock
showing day and entries are flooding in from the best of British
livestock farmers and breeders. There will be a full programme of
equestrian classes, which will continue throughout the weekend
including all breeds of horses, from Shetlands to Shires, and some
great show jumping classes.
Friday is also the final of the
Schools Food Challenge – the region’s most hotly contested culinary
competition – when local school pupils will tempt us all with their
mouth-watering menus. The Country Trail (open all weekend) will
enable children to learn more about where their roast lunch comes
from, while having great fun.
Saturday and Sunday will see all
the usual fun of the fair and the fabulous family entertainment the
Show has become famous for. Main ring entertainment over the two
days will include the Dancing Diggers (Diggerland JCB Stunt Team),
the Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display Team and the Devil’s
Horsemen.
Our food hall, in the brand new
exec exhibition hall, will feature celebrity chefs, Lesley Waters
and James Tanner, will inspire you to cook some scrumptious food –
why not buy some delicious produce from the trade stands there too!
You can even buy direct from the farmer yourself.
Also, on the Saturday and Sunday
only, the Peterborough International Orchid Show returns for its
second year at the show, and will be a delight for the senses with
these delicate blooms coming from around the world. There will also
be talks from Orchid experts to help you grow your own. Our evening
concerts will have you dancing the night away to the Lounge Lizards
on Friday and Boney M featuring Maizie Williams and Saturday.
There is plenty of opportunity for
retail therapy, with over 400 retail stands to choose from,
including the Lifestyle Zone, craft fairs and Food Hall.

Gates open from 8.00am – 6pm and
car parking is FREE, with a network of level tarmac roads for ease
of access for the disabled. Children under the age of 16 must be
accompanied by a full paying adult and dogs must be kept on leads at
all times (dogs will not be permitted in the buildings).
The East of England Showground is
easily accessible by car from all major routes and is well
sign-posted. Rail passengers should travel to Peterborough Station
(located approximately 6 miles from the Showground) from where a
shuttle bus service will be in operation.
