The launch event will include live PAs from Jason Denzell, who has
recorded with Dizzy Rascal, Point 7 Pistol and Peterborough DJs
Slade and T-Rex.
Councillor Matthew Dalton, spokesman
for young people said: “The DJ project will offer workshops in DJ
skills, recording techniques, software and music production and much
more. It will run fortnightly throughout the summer.
“It is open to anyone aged 13 to 19
and we hope lots of teenagers will take up the opportunity to meet
the performers, take part in activities and have a go on the decks.”
Caroline Dolby, a curriculum
specialist youth worker with Peterborough City Council’s youth
service said: “As well as the workshops, we will also be offering
lessons in drums, bass guitar/keyboard and singing lessons both on a
one-to-one and group basis.
“We will also offer lessons in using
software such as Cubase and Reason and there is the opportunity to
take an AS Level in music production.”
Admission is free. More information
