The post-Christmas blues will soon be forgotten when you pay a visit to The Cresset in the New Year.

The fun kicks off with Jimmy Carr – Rapier Wit on January 8. After selling out twice in one night in his autumn show at the Bretton venue in Peterborough, Jimmy is back for more with his own unique blend of loyalty and greed.

Best known for hosting the hit TV shows Eight Of Out Ten Cats and Commercial Breakdown, Jimmy is sure to have you rolling in the aisles.

Tickets cost £22.50 and are in short supply so book now. The show starts at 7.30pm and is not suitable for under-16s.

For a complete change of pace, come and see the exciting annual extravaganza from the Encore Dance Academy in Peterborough. The youngsters will be showing off their ballet, tap and jazz skills as well as some popular routines to Hannah Montana’s Hoedown Throwdown and the Blues Brothers’ Shake Your Tail Feather.

Performances are on January 23 at 2pm and 6.30pm and January 24 at 2pm. Tickets cost £9.50.

How better to round off the month than an evening with Jane McDonald. Billed “entertainment at its best”, Jane combines music and laughter to wow audiences with her repertoire of popular songs. Since finding stardom on a cruise ship, the down-to-earth diva has had a number one album, starred in the West End and is a regular panellist with her own no-nonsense opinions on BBC’s Loose Women. But it’s singing Jane loves.

Jane is at The Cresset on January 31 at 8pm. Tickets, which are selling fast, cost £29.50.
