Adult cats looking for loving homes

Lifestyle | Article

Dedicated homing afternoons held by Peterborough Cats Protection will continue every Sunday throughout the autumn. Karen Baldock, Homing officer, said “Sundays have proved a popular time for people to come along and see all the cats that are ready to go.

"We have quite a few young adults looking for homes who have come to us through no fault of their own. Lots of people have chosen kittens this summer, so now we would like to see some of our adults get a second chance."

Once a potential match is made the adoptees may then be subject to a home visit. The Homing events are held every Sunday between 2 and 4pm. Adult cats can be seen this Sunday (5 October) at 10 Green Lane, Yaxley, Peterborough.

Karen continued “Anyone adopting from Cats Protection can be assured that as far as we can tell they are homing a healthy animal. All cats and kittens will have received a health check by a vet, be treated for fleas and worms, and have had at least their first vaccination and all adults will be neutered.”

To help cover some of our costs we suggest a donation of £50 for an adult cat and £40 for a kitten. Anyone who would like further information is asked to call the homing officer on 01733 243187.

Future information is available from our website www.peterboroughcats.co.uk or from the homing officer.

Romeo & Juliet (pictured) were saved by a kind passer by as their owner was just about to dump them into the river in a sealed box. Romeo is about 5 years old, he does have a slight heart murmur, which should not affect him but Cats Protection will pay for any future medication needed. Juliet is about 3 and slightly shyer, but in a good home we believe that they will both flourish and become a welcome addition to the right family. Can you give them the second chance they desperately deserve?

Frizz (pictured) is very playful and will make a lovely pet when he's settled in a loving home. He came in to be neutered but his owner didn't want him back. He is about 2 years old, with a foxy tail! Neutered, flea'd, wormed, fully vaccinated and will be microchipped.

Russett (pictured) is a young cat that came in with feral kittens. We think she has been a pet at some point as she used to beg for food for her kittens. She's a little nervous until she gets to know you but needs to be an only cat. Neutered, flea'd, wormed, fully vaccinated and will be microchipped.

Tom & Harry are two brothers, two years old, came from a household with too many cats. Now looking for new homes with owners who can give them the attention they deserve. They are neutered, have had first vaccination, wormed and de-flea'd.
