The larger premises at 4 Fengate East are required to meet customer
demand. Over the last year store sales have increased by almost 18%,
with a profitability growth of over 80%, which has allowed the
owners to expand the businesses in Peterborough and Cambridge.
The product range is also growing
with more triathlon clothing and accessories, additional gait
analysis and sports science testing, as well as in store
physiotherapy, in association with the Fitzwilliam Hospital.
Adjacent to the new 4400sq ft store there will be a new bicycle shop
to complement the product range.
Advance Performance is a runaway
success story which regularly wins awards. It has grown from a back
bedroom business over a twelve year period, moving into high street
premises in Peterborough in 1999 and then to the purpose designed
store in Fengate in 2005. A second store opened in Cambridge in
2007. The team currently comprises 14 members of staff, which is due
to grow to 17 in October.
Managing Director and founder,
Samantha Hale, is excited about this move, commenting, “Customers

were thrilled when the opportunity of much larger premises, just
around the corner, came up. We are investing in both the
Peterborough and Cambridge stores and the additional space will also
enable the mail order internet sales side of the business to grow
even further. Taking on more staff is good for Peterborough too.”
