We should be able to vote online, millions more votes would be cast. To make it more interesting, the winning party will have to spend the first year on active service somewhere in the world.
See how quickly they jump in with the hawks after that.

If voting was put online then the government (whichever government) would put a back-door in the program for their own warped purposes.

Worked for Bush didn't it.

There's a lot to be said for the "Manual-hard-work" way.

Hence the winning prize.

I think you were referring to the touch screen "Diebold" computer screens that were installed at voting stations not the internet. These machines were owned and run by prominent Republicans who refused to open up the coding (commercial confidentiality) when there countless charges of irregularities.

The British system of counting by hand is extremely archaic but it works. On top of that it always scores highly and is widely admired becasue, comparitively, so few voting scandals arise. I have no problem with voting online but it would have to at least match the record of the current method.

OMG I'm agreeing with Colgrin

The End Of The World Is Nigh

btw.. Looks like the Lib-Dems have just lost 33 million votes

Quote:

LibDem manifesto: Road pricing (33 million votes lost), cut road budget (from near zero?), rural fuel discount (unworkable), zero emisions by 2040 (irrelevant to a 4 year govt). Claims "fair taxes" but obviously forgot to add "(except drivers)".

Thanks for that link, according to it my opinions etc are inline mostly with the green party, lib dems 2nd choice, conservative then labour.

That was really interesting to go through and has got me thinking about a few more areas that I need to look into more. Education, Immigration and Defence.

Though I'm still not sure what Parliamentary reform is? I passed on that one after a quick google check and still confused ... can anyone here explain to me what it is?

What is this lizard stuff you guys keep referring to. I've noticed in on a few other posts while I've been nosing around. Is this a David Icke reference, i.e raving loony party?? lol
