This is another event hosted by the Plough over at Farcet Fen. The main info:

  • Friday 28th to Monday 31st May.
  • Local and national acts including Lloyd Watson, Lexie Green, Ian Siegal and Kent Duchaine.
  • Weekend admission: £25 adults, £12 12-17 year olds, free for under 12s.
  • Day admission: £10 adults, £5 12-17 year olds, free for under 12s.
  • Camping pitches available.

I was thinking this might be do-able when I heard kids were free - but as my kids are 12 and over the price sounds a bit steep.

Elsie I guess these things are relative but I didn't imagine the prices would be seen as steep given the number of bands playing, with some of them not coming cheap due to their quality and profile. Hopefully you'll be able to save up and join in the fun. (By the way I'm not directly involved in organising this, just spreading the word.)

Yes sorry, Richard. You are right, it is relative. I just mean in terms of what families  can afford. It will cost me more than the last Grassroots festival at the same venue, and holds less appeal for the under 18s.

I would definitely like to see Ian Siegal for the first time and obviously, you local bands (such as there are) are very high quality. Starving Sid's brilliant, although he must be knocking on a bit now, and it will be a fine opportunity to catch Kent Duchaine, now that Charters can't be bothered to put stuff on. In view of that, I wish  the live bill could have been a tad busier, if anything.
