Oligarchy as a ruling class is posed by Plato in The Republic where we find that Oligarchy is a constitution full of many evils where the rich dominate the government buy buying it and the average individual or the poor count for absolutely nothing.
Oligarchy is a frame of mind that especially amongst top bankers is already a world view that applies Malthusian and zero-growth policies that have got us here, but if unchecked will continue driving down the standard of living in their attempts to wipe-out all kinds of mass institutions that might be a countervailing force.
Aligned to this is also a scientific dictatorship which Bertrand Russell and the Huxley’s foretold us about as part of the global planning we are experiencing today.
Globalization in this form is economically destroying the world.
If we allow the Oligarchs to continue to dominate, the destruction of civilization is a matter only a few decades away.
No wonder Maurice Strong, founder of the UN environmental programme, in his opening speech at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992 warned “Isn’t the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse?” and “Isn’t it our responsibility to bring this about?”

God was drunk when he made me, but that's OK 'cause I forgive him.
