It's August... news silly season. Tends to be like it every year.
I watch BBC Breakfast most mornings and it covers enough of the basics for my early morning brain. If I want more serious news in greater detail then I would change to the BBC news channel, or one of the other 24 hour news channels.
It cycles around for people getting up and joining at different times. Which makes sense, so not lots of time to go into great detail really, when most people will only watch for about 30 mins tops.
I can't stand GMTV, so there must be a difference.
I've never noticed any cardigans either, you sure you're watching the same thing as me?
