Yes I guess it's because there will be a programme for sale at the festival. Well done for doing what you thought would be a service to people though.

That's a shame really Rodders. We have just come on here to refer to your link and now I've forgotten most of the info on there. Apparently there will be a good preview in tomorrow's ET (although they'll probably make the whole thing sound really tacky!)

I look forward to the Battenberg Stage and sincerely hope that you will all be playing in a nice yellow & pink setting!

Something by Neil Young please?
Or a rendition of a Pink Floyd tune would be nice.

I shall bring rotten tomatoes then. Just for the bits where you're not playing Pink Floyd though

that's really sh*t, I'm sorry. It's not just me who thinks this, negative comments are all over facebook. I'd rather pay £3 to get in, programme optional, and have advanced preparation of who I wanted to see from freely available sources....

having said that, it'd be stupid and unfair for ANY blame to be directed at Mark or his volunteers who's only concern is the bands and the music... we should all know nothing is "free" these days, and if it was a condition of GP Print's sponsorship that there'd be a total embargo on the running order to enable them to recoup their costs, so be it.

Peterborough - the place where people say there's nothing to do but when when we do get a free music festival with 130 bands on six stages over three days people still find something to moan about.

Ian I guarantee you if it was three quid to get in people would moan even more and thousands would not go.

it's unfair to jump on the single one thing that people are moaning about (and I mean lots of people) and suggest it's an example of "people still finding something to moan about"...there's a line when something goes from being an habitual moan to a legitimate complaint.  there's 130 'events' over 3 days when not everyone will be able to go for the duration...it's as simple as that, facebook can give you hundreds of other reasons why people are grieved.

The beer festival doesn't seem to suffer from charging a daily entry fee AND extra for a glass... and the bands there are usually just as big a draw as the ales...so I don't think Pboro is as bad as you're making out when it comes to paying a reasonable door tax for good quality kicks. Being forced to buy a programme (which a lot of people would probably buy anyway!) just to get hold of an embargoed running order is what's leaving a sour taste with many people.
