More volunteers are still needed for The Willow Festival ahead of its return to Peterborough.
The three-day event takes place at the Embankment from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 May 2012.
Over the three days, 123 bands from all over the UK will play on six stages. The aim of the festival is to promote the best emerging bands and performers in the country, and especially from the local area.
Entry to The Willow Festival is free and it relies on the support of volunteers and local businesses . Volunteers can take part for the whole day or for just a few hours.
Stephen Woolley, volunteer organiser for The Willow Festival, said: “It’s fantastic that The Willow Festival is returning to Peterborough. The support we’ve had from the bands, local businesses and Peterborough City Council just proves how popular the event is - and how much it’s been missed.
“We’ve already got volunteers signed up, but we need many more to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible.
“For anyone that volunteers this will be the chance to take part in an event that will bring together communities from across Peterborough. It will be a chance to do something really different and meet new friends.
“For anyone wishing to have a future in organising events or promotions, or just loves music and Peterborough’s vibrant scene, The Willow Festival will prove to be a great experience.”
Volunteers are needed to perform a range of duties over the weekend. Roles include: stage and crew hands, sales and merchandising, car parking, staffing information points and working in the VIP section.
Peterborough City Council is supporting the festival alongside a number of local business sponsors including: Roythornes Solicitors, Papa Luigi, GP Print, GL Events Snowdens, Grange Farm Studios, Battenburg, Newflame, Radical Sportscars, P.Net, The Moment Magazine, ESP Magazine, The Guitar Shack, Oilbug Records, Taurus Bass Gear and Emjay Media.
