Peterborough Operatic & Dramatic Society receive their prize

l-r Ged Jarret (PODS Publicity Officer), Bernard Pink (PODS Web Manager/Editor), Sheila Ackroyd (PODS Hon Secretary) & Jenny Mogford (Peterborough Community Website) with the magnum of champagne outside the Key Theatre.

Peterborough Community Website - www.peterborough.net - has been running for three years this month and to celebrate the occasion ran an online prize draw for a magnum of champagne.

The prize was presented outside the Key Theatre to Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS), who entered the draw by subscribing to the Community Website monthly newsletter.

The Key is the home of PODS, who celebrated their own 100th birthday last year, making them one of the oldest societies in the country. But that has not stopped them embracing new technology, as they’ve recently created themselves another home on the Net, with their website - www.podsonline.co.uk.

Community Website manager, Jenny Mogford said: "It’s great that new and old can meet like this. In Internet terms, three years is a long time and it does make you wonder where the Net will be in one hundred years time.”
