Guided Walking Tour of Godmanchester
A chance to see Roman remains, timber framed buildings and a wealth of 16th and 17th Century architecture. We will be the guests of the Huntingdon and Godmanchester Civic Society. Our guide will be local historian David Hufford.

Visit to Octavia Hill's birthplace, Wisbech
Octavia Hill's birthplace has recently been greatly improved thanks to a major grant. Octavia Hill was a social reformer hugely influential in the formation of several institutions that are major parts of our national culture - from Housing Associations to the National Trust. We will be met by curator Peter Clayton, tour the house and finish with tea and cakes.

Our Chairman, Peter Lee welcomes members and guests to his special evening
Our speaker is Very Rev Charles Taylor, the Dean of Peterborough Cathedral
and his subject is
A Life in the day of a Dean
Charles Taylor was appointed Dean of the Cathedral in 2006 and moved here from Lichfield Cathedral. The Civic Society is delighted to welcome him as guest speaker at its annual special open meeting. He is an entertaining speaker as well as discharging a demanding and multi-dimensional job. He will speak on his responsibilities within the Cathedral, his role in relation to the civic, community and cultural life of the City and his national and international activities.
