Wadenhoe, the management development consultancy and research group,
is sponsoring Howard Payne's 'Team Wadenhoe' car in the BARC/BRDC K
Sports 1600 championship.
A highly experienced racing driver,
Howard raced in Formula 3 against Damon Hill and Mikka Hakkinen and
has competed for the past 8 years in the Clubmans Championship with
An example of Howard's tenacity came
in round 4 of this year's season, the first full race to be held at
the new Rockingham circuit. He spun off in practice the day before the
race - "Adding a second chicane to the circuit, in the form of
his bodywork," to quote race organiser Martin Covill. Howard and
Team Wadenhoe got the badly-bent car back into shape for the race,
and, despite lack of practice on the new circuit, came fourth, thus
retaining their fourth place in the overall Championship.
"Howard's approach to racing
reflects Wadenhoe's commitment to working hard to achieve goals,"
says Wadenhoe Chairman Peter Hall, who also admits to a life-long love
of motor sports.
The Wadenhoe Group is based at
Wadenhoe House, near Oundle.
