Specialist communications consultancy expands to offer alternative to PR

Business | Press | News

Specialist communications and identity consultancy (meaningfulmedia) has expanded its operation by launching a new service which promises to offer a real alternative to PR.

Called STOP PRESS, the new service is the region's first dedicated press release writing and distribution operation, and is aimed at organisations unhappy with their current PR activities or wishing to gain media coverage at a low fixed cost.

Behind (meaningfulmedia) and STOP PRESS is former Daily Mail journalist and former Oxfam national press officer Arup Biswas.

Arup Biswas of Meaningful Media STOP PRESS

He said: "Our experience shows us that many organisations find PR firms expensive, lacking top-level broad journalism experience, and requiring clients to commit to restrictive contracts and retainers.

"To address this need and to offer smaller organisations the opportunity to gain media coverage at a low cost, we launched STOP PRESS.

"We have streamlined the whole process to make the service as simple and straightforward for companies as possible. This includes creating an on-line ordering facility on our website and establishing a turn around time of just 48 hours."

Since its launch last year, Peterborough-based (meaningfulmedia) has been specialising in providing media and identity guidance to charities and NGOs.

As well as working for charities including the Refugee Arrivals Project and the Nepal Trust, it also worked on a voluntary basis with Peterborough's Orton Longueville School.

Through creating and launching the 28 days - 28,000 Countdown Appeal, which gained wide regional media coverage, (meaningfulmedia) helped the school qualify for Business and Enterprise Status and entitlement to 600,000 of Government money.
