Local housebuilder leads the way on in-home technology

Housebuilder Stamford Homes has introduced some of the most advanced in-home technology available in Europe at its Maple Walk development in Hampton Hargate.

Not only is this the first package of its kind in Europe , but unlike many other systems which have a short shelf-life due to advances in technology, this package will future-proof your home for the next five years. And what’s more, the whole system comes as standard in every house built on new Stamford Homes developments.

Immediate benefits to purchasers include:

  • Free access to the Internet through any television set in the house - including the ability to surf the net, shop on-line and send emails. They don't even need a PC!

  • A digitally-compatible reception system - which means no TV interference if your mobile phone rings in another room or electrical work is being carried out in your area.

  • The ability to watch television or listen to FM radio in every room in your house from the day you move in- thanks to the digitally compatible TV distribution system.

  • a CCTV facility at the front door to provide added security. The system is linked to any television in the house.

  • The opportunity to upgrade the system so purchasers can remotely switch on lights, close curtains - or even switch on the kettle!

  • Access to a Stamford Homes portal - containing details about the company, its developments around the region and a fast-track entry to its customer care services.

  • Access to a community portal enabling residents to promote events or services (like babysitting or laundry) in their area. It will also feature a message board as a communications tool for people accessing the site, with links to a whole range of other local services The 40 Maple Walk homes will act as a platform for the rest of the township and other parts of Peterborough- providing local news, leisure and entertainment guide, eating out contacts and much more via the portal.

  • A link with the local school. This could mean anything from children being able to tap into the school's educational resources via the net, or parents receiving messages on an electronic notice board about school activities or events.

  • A free 12-month subscription to Sky Digital.

A European first, the Home Pilot system has been devised by the Coventry-based Enovate Group - In Home Innovations in association with Norwegian hardware developers PCTVnet and software designers Consulting UK.

The Maple Walk system is wired for the future, so it can be upgraded as and when you wish. For example, the purchase of a web camera would allow FREE telephone calls to friends and family while being able to simultaneously see and talk to them on screen.

The new technology is currently being demonstrated at Stamford Homes’ Maple Walk development in Hampton Hargate but it will be fitted to all homes on new developments including those at Rippingale, Hampton Vale, Thorney, Ketton and Uppingham.

The innovative move by Stamford Homes marks another first for the Peterborough-based developer. In 1998, the company won national acclaim for its hi-tech homes at Hampton Hargate's Stanton Square development which provided a fully integrated communications network.

Sales director Andy Addison said: " We believe that this exciting project sets us apart from other developers and demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation. “We have sold a staggering £2.3 million worth of properties at Maple Walk in two months and there is little doubt that this new technology has provided real added benefit and value to purchasers.

"We live in an increasingly technologically advanced world and new homes builders must keep up with those advances to satisfy a discerning public and judging by the initial reaction at Pale Walk, our customers support that view.”

Maple Walk comprises a mix of two, three and four-bed homes, starting from £103,950. For more information contact the sales office on 01733 562059.
