Party games at City PR agency

Business | Press | News

Peterborough-based marketing and public relations agency Smye Holland Associates is to hold a children’s party, complete with jelly and ice cream and party games such as pass-the-parcel – but no children. Instead, the firm is inviting its clients and suppliers to what it describes as ‘an adult children’s party’ in a fund-raising stunt for Children in Need. It will run for the whole afternoon on Friday 8 November.

Judy Anderson of Smye Holland Associates - she will be spending the day in an Andy Pandy costume as part of the company's charity fund-raising activity.

All the company’s staff will be wearing fancy dress throughout the day. Andy Pandy (alias Smye Holland Associates director Judy Anderson) said:

“Over the past two years we have raised more than £2,500 for charity. We are asking our business contacts to help us raise money this year by paying to enter our party games – whether they come to the party or not. We will be donating the cash to the BBC’s Children in Need appeal.”

Last year Smye Holland Associates staff raised £1,219 50 for The National Kidney Research Fund with a sponsored bike ride. Judy Anderson said:

“We thought that this year we would do something that the people sponsoring us could join in themselves – without asking them to do any more than come to share a glass of something a bit more grown-up than orange squash.”
