NetSupport School 4.50 brings even more colour into them classroom blues

PCS will be officially launching their new version of NetSupport School 4.50 at this years Networks Telecom Show. You can see the new version in action by visiting us on stand 20A48, 27th - 29th June, NEC Birmingham.

Having the privilege of teaching a class of 15-20 pupils can be quite a task if all the students are shouting for help at once. Since the arrival of NetSupport School this job has been a lot more efficient and now the teacher can work from the comfort of his/her chair.

We have already seen some amazing features from our award winning remote control software but now new with version 4.50 teachers can:

  • Multi-Scan - monitor up to 16 student screens simultaneously.

  • Multi-Media Support - If you have multimedia PCs, full audio and video support is now available.

  • Power Management - Power On/Power Off - Logoff and shutdown Student PCs to minimise power consumption.

The main highlights of NetSupport School without mentioning hand in/hand out work feature, classroom layout, student sign in, annotate the screen, full Windows 2000 support and more are:

Show - display teacher's screen on the students screens.
Remote Control (Viewing) - Watch, Share or Control a Student's screen, keyboard and mouse. View multiple Student screens simultaneously.
Scan - Automatically cycle through each student's PC in turn, displaying its screen on the Tutor PC.
Help Request - Students can raise a request for help at the Teachers screen.
File Transfer - Transfer and manipulate files between a Teacher and a Student, using advanced 'Drag and Drop' technology.
File Distribution - Distribute Files from the teacher PC to a group of students.
Launch Applications - Launch an application on one or all Student PCs at the press of a button.
Blank out a pupil's screen if the teacher does not want them to see what they are doing when configuring the system or marking work.
Cut and paste between the teachers and the student machine, so you don't have to e-mail a totally new file.
Delta File Transfer, NetSupport detects whether or not the file being transferred is already there.
Video Skipping where NetSupport can intelligently skip transmitting screen up-dates if they are School being superseded by another change. This improves performance.

NetSupport already has thousands of installations worldwide with millions of clients installed ranging from schools, universities, training companies and other types of classroom based training organisations.

Tim Pipes from Southampton City College said - "We chose NetSupport School because you could download a demo, so we knew what it was like before we bought it, it was ridiculously easy to install and set-up, and it works efficiently and is very robust. It is really useful in the Open Access IT centre as an on-line back up to the proxy server and for eliminating hacking as we can keep an eye on the students. It is also great in helping provide remote assistance to students".

Now with the new release classroom training will be a whole lot more colourful.
