Housing Association updates website for visually impaired

Business | Press | News

Peterborough-based Minster General Housing Association has introduced improvements to its website to make it more accessible to people with eyesight limitations.

The association has adopted internationally recognised ‘Bobby’ standards so that people with visual impairments can modify their computer settings to increase the size of text on the website or change the background and text colour to increase legibility.

“These improvements are relatively simple to introduce but they bring significant benefits to people who, for a variety of health or age-related reasons, suffer from impaired vision,” said Minster chief executive Tim Hawkes.

The website - www.minsterha.co.uk - contains a wealth of information for tenants and leaseholders of Minster’s 1,700 properties and people who are seeking affordable rented accommodation in Peterborough, Northampton, Rutland, King’s Lynn, Huntingdon, Fenland and Lincolnshire.

Another recent addition to the website is a facility to download Minster’s quarterly tenant newsletter in pdf (portable document file) format.
