Choices 2003

Business | Press | News

For help in making the right choice about what to do when leaving school all full-time students aged between 14 and 24 in Cambridgeshire are invited to two Choices careers events locally, organised by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) Cambridgeshire in association with Connexions.

The events will be held at:

  • Moat House Hotel, Peterborough on Sunday 16 March

  • The Guildhall, Cambridge, on Sunday 23 March

Both events are free, no pre-booking is needed and the doors will be open from 10 am to 4 pm

Full details on the two events have been mailed to nearly 20,000 young people in Cambridgeshire who are due to leave school this year or next. The events offer an opportunity for young people and their parents to discuss post-16 options with trained careers advisors in an informal setting, as well as meeting trainees with first-hand experience.

Training experts from local and national organisations will be on hand to discuss career opportunities for a whole host of popular career paths including accountancy, agriculture, business administration, childcare and education, customer service, engineering, estate agency, hairdressing, health care, hotel and catering, IT, leisure, printing, retail, road haulage and distribution, travel and tourism.

There will be a particular emphasis on vocational work-based training and learning opportunities leading to Modern Apprenticeships.

Full details about the events will be displayed on posters and flyers in schools, career centres and libraries or by calling 0845 019 4165.

All students attending one of the events will be given a full pack of information about all the opportunities available.
