Hegarty's receive web accolade

Local lawyers Hegarty & Co's web site at www.hegarty.co.uk has just been voted one of the top 20 'brochure' web sites in the UK, by a leading Internet specialist.

The award was made by Delia Venables, who is viewed by many as the top authority on legal web sites in the UK, and a pioneer in the field. Hegarty & Co's site scored an impressive 17 out of 20, with only 2 sites in the whole of the UK scoring more, at 18.

Delia rated the sites according to 4 key criteria - speed of loading, quality of information, design and 'something extra'. Hegarty's site scored 4 out of five for the first three categories, and an impressive five out of five for the 'something extra'.

Marketing Manager at Hegarty & Co, Mark Dodds, who designed and programmed the site said:

"We're extremely pleased to have achieved this accolade, particularly as we undertake all our work in-house. We were one of the first law firms to launch a web site and have continually expanded and enhanced it since."

"We are particularly proud of our maximum in the 'something extra' section. We've worked hard to make the site more than just about the firm, and have developed a number of web based services which encourage people to come back again."

Mark went on to say that just because they won the praise, they were not resting on their laurels:

"We have a lot of exciting plans for the development of the site for 2001, and it's fair to say that we will be doing some things we have not yet thought of. We are committed to the 'net and will use it in whatever ways we can to provide a better, more proactive service for our clients."
