Peterborough solicitors Hegarty &
Co are helping companies to get their employment handbooks up to date
to ensure they comply with the new employment legislation coming into
force on 6th April 2003.
Head of Employment, partner Martin
Bloom explained, "All HR professionals will be aware that the
Employment Act 2002 becomes law in April. There has been a lot of
press coverage to make employers realise that they need to be prepared
that their employees will soon be entitled to better rights."
Tim Thompson who is also an Employment
Partner at the firm said, "Employers need to make sure they
update their company handbook, but we appreciate that this could be a
mammoth task. So we're offering to provide a pack that includes
complete policies covering the new maternity rights, parental rights,
paternity rights, adoption rights and flexible working rights.
"They simply insert the policies
into their company handbook and can be confident that they are ready
for the changes," commented Tim.
The pack costs £75 + VAT per company
and can be received by e-mail or in hardcopy. Those interested in
receiving a copy should e-mail Debbie Walters at [email protected]
or call 01733 295618.
