High level talks on Peterborough's future

Business | Press | News

Crucial high-level discussions that could influence Peterborough’s continuing development have been held at the town hall.

Margaret Ford, chairman of national regeneration agency English Partnerships, held meetings with city council chief executive Gillian Beasley and Greater Peterborough Investment Agency chief executive Gloria Milne.

The discussions also involved city council leader Neville Sanders, the council’s head of economic and community regeneration Liz Wade, and English Partnerships’ executive director Dennis Hone.

As the owner of around 100 acres (40 hectares) of commercial development land in the city, English Partnerships is a keen supporter of several marketing and development initiatives that are designed to improve the city’s prestige and attractions for business relocations.

English Partnerships is working with the city council on a Masterplan for the city centre that will co-ordinate several large-scale developments, including the North Westgate and River Nene South Bank areas.

Mrs Milne said: “Our discussions were very helpful, especially at a time when major new projects are being planned. It was a useful opportunity for Margaret to visit the city and for us to focus on the issues and opportunities that exist.”
