New survey to help local business

Greater Peterborough Investment Agency (GPIA) is conducting its first market research survey to evaluate the ‘business experience’ of companies based in Peterborough.

The survey, which is being sponsored by city-based computer network consultancy Good Systems, will ask leaders of companies in Greater Peterborough about their experience of running a business in the area. It will also assess their needs for the future.

In particular, the survey will research the performance of companies since they have been established locally. It will also seek opinions of business facilities in the city and proposed of future projects and developments which could aid businesses.

Bill Agnew, business development director for GPIA, said: “Part of GPIA’s role is to help companies which are based in the area to grow and develop. This survey will enable us to identify aspects that most contribute to business performance in the city and then to look at ways in which we can improve and develop these. It will also help us to predict how local companies expect to grow in the future and what resources the city will need to provide.

“We anticipate that this survey will become a regular, key aspect of our planning process and we are very grateful to Good Systems for supporting us with it.”

Alex Pickering of Good Systems said: “To help us plan our future resources we need to be able to accurately forecast the rate at which our business could grow. A key component of this is the rate at which our local customers grow. We see this survey as providing important information to help us plan our resources to ensure that we maintain a high standard of customer service.

The survey will be mailed this month (July) to 2,500 businesses in the Peterborough area.
