Mr Agnew (52) was previously senior corporate manager for Peterborough
and Spalding with Barclays Bank, the culmination of a 33 year career
with the company during which he held a number of posts involved with
assisting a wide range of small and medium-sized enterprises as well
as large companies.
GPIA chief executive Gloria Milne
said: "This is a new role within the agency which will focus
strongly on helping Greater Peterborough to retain fast-growing
companies. Bill's excellent understanding of economic development
issues, corporate finance and general business management makes him
the ideal person for this post."
Mr Agnew said: "My initial focus
will be on identifying ways in which GPIA can assist local companies
to expand. It is a tremendous opportunity to put my skills to work for
the wider business community and I am looking forward to showing firms
how we can make a positive impact on their business."
