Top property investors from around the
world were targeted with promotional messages about the advantages of
relocating to the Greater Peterborough area during MIPIM, the annual
international property show held in Cannes.
Greater Peterborough Investment Agency (GPIA)
chairman John Durance and marketing manager Vera Woolmer were based at
the GPIA stand throughout the show, providing almost 15,000 visitors
with information about development opportunities in Peterborough.
“The show attracts visitors from all
over the world and there were especially large contingents from the
USA and Germany,” said Ms Woolmer. “As a result of establishing
contact with people at MIPIM we are now in a better position to follow
up their interest in the coming months. “It is far easier to speak
to people in the informal surroundings of an exhibition than it is to
secure appointments for formal meetings.
East of England Development Agency chief
executive Bill Samuel and head of communications Rachel Bosworth
accompanied the GPIA team this year and were able to provide a
regional perspective to the discussions. By exhibiting at MIPIM GPIA
qualified to receive the show’s catalogue that provides a valuable
database of business contacts.
Bill Samuel said: “We were very
impressed with the type of inquiries and the seniority of the property
and other professionals at MIPIM. We will be encouraging GPIA and
other partners across the region to join with us to ensure an even
bigger profile for the East of England at next year’s event.”
The GPIA stand included a large screen
video presentation illustrating why Peterborough provides an excellent
location for thriving businesses. Visitors were given specially
prepared mini-CD business cards containing further promotional
material to reinforce the message.
