A company that specialises in
providing customer relationship management systems and in developing software to
link computers and telephones for customer service call centres has opened new
offices in Peterborough from which to target sales throughout the UK and USA.
Papillon Technology Ltd was seeking
a location in the ‘Cambridgeshire corridor’ and was persuaded by Greater
Peterborough Investment Agency (GPIA) that Peterborough offered the best value
in office accommodation and a good quality work force.
“After launching in Docklands, we
opened one office in Amersham to service the M4 corridor and we have opened the
Peterborough operation to service the Silicon Fen area,” said sales director
Mark Wilkinson. The company is based at Blenheim Court, adjacent to Bourges
Boulevard in New England, Peterborough.
“We specialise in providing
customer relationship management systems and in developing software to integrate
computers and telephones for handling both in-bound and out-bound calls. In
addition to UK sales the USA is a big market for specific applications.
“Our technology enables smaller
call centres with between 20 and 200 operators to achieve the same efficiencies
as those with 250-plus people.
“At present we are a small company
with only about 20 employees but considerable development is predicted for this
business sector so we anticipate rapid growth. We are aiming to expand with
another 10 to 20 jobs in Peterborough over the next three to six months.”
GPIA chief executive Gloria Milne
said: “Papillon Technology’s decision to relocate to Peterborough is a
further demonstration of the area’s attractions as a business location for
high technology companies.
“Our excellent transport
connections provide swift access to major markets and our high quality business
premises represent considerable value compared with other locations.”
A recent survey by Cambridgeshire
County Council revealed that 250 new high technology jobs had been created in
Peterborough in the past two years and Mrs Milne added that she hoped further
relocation decisions would be announced shortly.
