Would be journalists have made an
impact on media giant, Emap Active, by winning prizes in their Young Writer of
the Year competition, organised in conjunction with the Greater Peterborough
Chamber's Education Business Partnership.
Students from 13 secondary
schools in the Greater Peterborough area submitted over 260 entries to the
competition. Entrants had to write an original piece of no more than 1,200 words
in length about their favourite activity or pastime.
Three winners were selected per
category from Under 13, Under 15 and Under 17. They all gathered for an awards
ceremony, together with their parents and school principal or teacher, at the
Chamber's premises at Stuart House.
