The first show of its kind in Peterborough proved to be a two-day
success when the Flex-Able Secretarial and Office Services Show took
place at The Bull Hotel.
Sponsored by the city's leading
supplier of office products, Walters Office World, the Show was
visited by PAs and secretaries from Peterborough and the region.
Throughout the event, companies such
as John Lewis, Delia Smith's Canary Catering, Best Western Hotels,
Coca-Cola, Marriot Hotels, Business Travel World and many others
companies promoted their products and services to a targeted market.
Seminars were held by Anne Corder,
People Potential and Recruiting People as well as psychometric testing
with Peterborough company, HRg.
Celine Pinter, MD of Recruiting People
said, "We certainly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with clients
and our two seminars gave us the chance to share our expertise with
new people. We have received excellent feedback from everyone who
attended, so much so we now intend to push out a series of similar

with PAs and Secretaries finding the networking opportunities and
seminars beneficial," says Organiser, Sarah Vanbergen, Director
of Flex-Able Travel. "They found money-saving products and a
choice of office services to add to their suppliers lists. Exhibitors
found the quality of visitors who were their target market and who
held purchasing responsibility.

Keen judging took place to find the PA
of the Year. The three finalists were Kerry Gordon of Ecolochem
International Inc, Peterborough; Paula Loveday-Smith of Synaptics (UK)
Ltd and Ruth Leyshon of South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Although closely contested, Ruth
Leyshon was announced the winner at the PA of the Year Awards, held
last Wednesday evening at The Bull Hotel.
At the Awards ceremony, Susie Fowler
Watt gave a fascinating insight into the world of BBC Look East and
John Lewis staged a highly professional fashion show profiling the
latest autumn/winter collection. "This was a great opportunity
for John Lewis to be involved in a new and exciting venture,"
said Amanda Nicol, Department Manager for Ladies Fashions. "We
have some new designer names in our autumn/winter collection, which
was well received. We all thoroughly enjoyed staging the fashion
