Company directors from throughout Cambridgeshire were looking forward
to a brighter economic future at the annual dinner of the Institute of
Directors (IoD) which was held at King's College in Cambridge.
The formal dinner was sponsored by
government development and regeneration agency English Partnerships
and was attended by more than 100 IoD members and guests, including
guest of honour Sir Brian Mawhinney, MP for North West Cambridgeshire.
Stephanie Smye, chairman of the IoD's
Eastern Branch, said: "Recent months have been difficult ones for
many companies - but although some are still facing problems, the
general economic picture is brighter now than it has been for some
time. There was a definite mood of optimism at the dinner."
