Dragon Boat Festival launches new identity

Business | Press | News

Local graphic design agency Titman Firth has created a set of new marketing campaign materials for this year’s Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival, sponsored by Marshall Motor Group.
The festival, now in its sixth year, takes place on Sunday 9 May on the river Nene near the Key Theatre. More than 50 crews from local companies are expected to battle it out on the water, with several thousand spectators cheering them on.
Titman Firth have designed a new brand identity, poster, direct mail material and entry pack for the festival organisers, Gable Events. Leigh Titman, creative director at Titman Firth, says: “We wanted to create an identity that would give the Festival a powerful and distinctive brand of it’s own, which would work consistently across the literature, poster campaign and website, and that is what we have produced.”

Carol Lester, a director of Gable Events adds: “We are delighted with the new branding and literature, and Titman Firth’s commitment to the project has been paramount to its success. Their work has also proved cost effective as we can print much of the literature ourselves, combining Microsoft Word templates and professionally pre-printed sheets supplied by Titman Firth.”

Gable Events commissioned Titman Firth after the companies met at a recent Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce ‘Lunchtime Safari’ networking event. “It’s great that the Chamber played its role in bringing two local companies together. Even better is that both the festival and its chosen charity, Art for Peterborough Hospitals, will benefit from the new branding,” says John Bridge, newly appointed chief executive of Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce.

The project marks the latest in a long line of rebranding projects that Titman Firth have carried out for their clients. Other such projects include those for local clients such as Beebys and the Haycock Hotel, and others further field such as Heald Solicitors of Bedford and Milton Keynes.
