The new advert, ‘Puppets’ follows the same style as the previous
commercial and features Aleksandr in his Russian mansion explaining
the difference between comparethemeerkat.com and
comparethemarket.com using a traditional marionette puppet show.
Aleksandr has become a cult icon
since the campaign was launched by comparethemarket.com in
January and now has 450,000 fans on Facebook and over 16,000
followers on Twitter.
Mark Vile, Marketing Director at
comparethemarket.com said “We’re thrilled that Aleksandr has
become such a popular TV character with the British public and we’re
very excited to announce a new advert that we hope will continue to
build on the success of the previous television campaign.”
The 20 second advert has been
created by advertising agency VCCP and can be seen on Channel 4,
ITV1, Sky 1 and Five.
