The Skills Register, which is due to make
a substantial impact on how we select suppliers in the future, is an
online resource where consumers can find local, experienced and
properly qualified businesses, committed to the highest standards, who
have been thoroughly vetted and are continually monitored.
The Skills Register, accessible over the
internet at www.skills-register.com,
seeks to implement recommendations from within the Government’s
Consumer White Paper of 1999 in an effort to combat rogue trading and
to assist those who are properly qualified, to promote their services.
It was developed with advice sought from the DTI and also from Trading
Standards Officers, who are active participants in its review
The initiative to put City Ruling Company
forward for inclusion in the Skills Register stems from its customer
service manager, John Scotney, who was keen to achieve recognition for
the company’s commitment to outstanding customer service and
providing only the very best in printing services.
Mr Scotney says “If not the biggest, we
certainly aim to be the best printer around for quality of service and
best value for money - not to mention our ability to meet deadlines”.
