Members of the local business community gathered at The City Club on Friday 18 February for the inaugural City Club and Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce joint event.

Representatives of “The Chamber”- including the Chief Executive, John Bridge OBE - and The Club, pronounced the day a great success. will be available from mid-afternoon.

Visitors to the Chamber/City Club Open Day

Stan Taylor, the Chamber’s External Relations Manager said: “It was a great opportunity for people to meet on an informal basis and get to know each other. We met some new faces and welcomed some old friends. The City Club is an ideal venue for members of the business community to come together.”

Sharon Dabell, The City Club’s Public Relations Executive, stated: “We are very pleased to support local businesses and the Chamber of Commerce. We feel that the city is a thriving commercial centre and we hope that The City Club can continue to provide support for local firms by offering a service geared to business needs by way of our corporate membership scheme.”

Corporate membership is available at extremely reasonable prices, dependant upon the size of the business. 2005 membership starts at £80 for 1 – 5 delegates (£16.00 each), £160 for 6-20 delegates. One of the main benefits of Corporate Membership is that this entitles the business to 10% discount on corporate events, which normally means that the first event discount covers the initial membership outlay.

For larger firms, further bands are available, making membership costs non-prohibitive. In addition to management and staff, corporate delegates can be partners of staff, clients and in fact anyone connected with the company.

Please contact David at the City Club on 01733 557722 for further details in relation to information in relation to City Club Corporate membership and Stan Taylor in relation to information and membership of Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce on 01223 237414
