Cambridgeshire Chamber appoints new Chief Executive

John Bridge, OBE, has been appointed Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce with immediate effect.

John is a well known Cambridgeshire business man; through his family transport company CW Bridge Ltd in Huntingdon where he has been Managing Director since 1986. 

He brings considerable experience to the role and has a professional background in Human Resources. John has held various senior roles for a number of companies including Marshall of Cambridge Engineering Ltd and Serck Services, part of the BTR Group of Companies.

He has gained a wide range of additional experience including holding the position of national Chairman of the Road Haulage Association for three years, Chairman of Cambridgeshire Enterprise Services and is currently a Director of Cambridgeshire Business Services (Business Link).

In addition John is a Trustee/Director of the logistics industry charity Transaid, a Trustee of the Cambridgeshire Police Shrievalty Trust and a Governor/Director of Kimbolton School.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), the Institute of Administration (FInstTA) and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD).

John was appointed OBE in 1997.

Commenting on his appointment John said: "I am very much looking forward to working with and developing the Chamber on behalf of its members."
